What We Treat

Trauma, Behavior, and Mood

Our psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and licensed therapists treat the full range of mental health conditions for children, adults, and older adults across Brevard County.

Conditions

Each of these is treated by our own clinicians, in one practice, with prescribers and therapists in regular contact.

  1. Trauma & PTSDPost-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop after exposure to a traumatic event such as physical or sexual violence, accidents, natural disasters, combat, or the sudden loss of a loved one.
  2. Addiction & Compulsive BehaviorsAddiction, whether to alcohol, medications, or other substances, is a real medical condition, not a moral failing.
  3. Anxiety & StressAnxiety disorders encompass a broad range of conditions characterized by persistent, excessive worry or fear that interferes with daily life.
  4. DepressionDepression is a medical condition that affects mood, energy, sleep, appetite, concentration, and the ability to take an interest in things that used to matter.
  5. Bipolar DisorderBipolar disorder involves shifts between depressive episodes and periods of elevated or irritable mood with increased energy, known as mania or, in a milder form, hypomania.
  6. OCDOCD involves obsessions, which are unwanted and intrusive thoughts, images, or urges, and compulsions, which are the repeated behaviors or mental acts done to relieve the distress those thoughts cause.
  7. ADHD & Attention DifficultiesADHD, or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, affects a person's ability to sustain attention, regulate activity, and manage impulses.
  8. Grief/Loss & Aging ConcernsGrief is a natural response to loss: whether the death of a loved one, the end of a significant relationship, a major life transition, or any profound change that alters one's sense of the world.
  9. Emotional DistressEmotional distress takes many forms.
  10. Relationship & Family ConflictHealthy relationships require communication, trust, and the ability to navigate disagreement, and when any of those break down, the effects ripple through every part of life.
  11. Sexual Health ConcernsSexual health encompasses far more than physical health.
  12. Life Transitions & Personal GrowthLife is full of transitions: some chosen, some unexpected, and some that arrive in both forms at once.
  13. Child & Adolescent Behavioral ChallengesChildren and adolescents communicate distress differently than adults.
